Your Role

As a GenslerBrandLeader in Dallas, you are a people and project leader, a creator of strategy, a design thinker, a client advocate and a relationship steward.You are a practice builder, who leverages a diverse portfolio of projects and business acumen to engage in new clients and project work. This role is for a leader who loves to push new ideas, is passionate about design, and gets excited about leading diverse projects and extremely talented creatives.

What You Will Do

Strategic Growth

  • Marketing and Developing new business on a consistent basis

  • Attending, hosting, or speaking at industry events

  • Increasing Gensler's visibility in the marketplace

  • Working closely with our marketing team to ensure business development reporting, lead generation, fee development, project marketing, proposal writing, and ensuring timely responses

Leadership

  • Building the industry's most creative team of designers

  • Enabling the team to reach their individual potential and maintain a positive team environment

  • Building staff capabilities through programs that improve individual design skills, technical skills, communication, and project management

  • Provide a creative, innovative, and nurturing environment

Team Management

  • Representing the interests of the Brand team and ensuring issues are addressed and resolved expeditiously

  • Monitoring and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of all staff, business, and financial operations within the Austin Brand team

  • Managing and mentoring team members

  • Providing direction on initiatives and project focus

  • Participating in management meetings, studio meetings, staffing, mentoring, and providingcreative direction to design teams

Staff Development

  • Working closely with your team to ensure an outstanding experience

  • Overseeing hiring, employee work performance, learning, professional development, bonus review, appointment input, and evaluation.

  • Inspiring creativity by partnering with design leaders to develop Brand strategies

Projects

  • Leading projects and ensuring client satisfaction

  • Focusing on project process, service/delivery, work environment, project documentation, and building clients' trust and loyalty in Gensler

  • Where appropriate, acting as the liaison to our clients and becoming the voice of the client guiding project teams

  • Collaborating with other office leaders, Practice Area Leaders, team members, and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy

Your Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience (including leadership) in brand strategy, print design, and environmental graphics

  • Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or related field

  • Ability to be client-facing and bring in business

  • Exceptional design sense with the ability to provide clear, critical design reviews to project teams

  • Excellent communication skills and experience as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, consultants, and project teams

  • Ability to lead complex, multifaceted projects while exhibiting financial stewardship and adhering to demanding project schedules

  • Ability to work closely with design leadership across Gensler to promote an interdisciplinary design philosophy and to facilitate its advancement both inside and outside of the firm

  • Desire to develop, motivate, and mentor young design professionals

  • Demonstrated success in building, nurturing, and sustaining client relationships
