Who We're Looking For

Toyota's TFS Data and Analytics organization is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Data Catalog Analyst. The Senior Data Catalog Analyst will support the TFS Data and Analytics department's objectives to build data catalog by collecting high-quality Metadata and build Lineage in collaboration with other technical teams.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as strong listening, problem-solving, and judgement skills. The candidate will be able to bridge business and technical concepts and have an experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Subject matter in data governance and data management concepts and Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK).
  • Own design, develop and deliver by collecting Metadata, Domain Discovery, and Profiling with industry best practices. promote their adoption via data literacy campaigns.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Metadata management and as an enterprise advocate for Enterprise Data Management standards and policies.
  • Identify the critical data elements and update the technical and business definitions.
  • Onboard the metadata related to the data sets and glossaries defined in Axon to make it available for Data Stewards and stakeholders.
  • Identify automation opportunity and work towards improving issue resolution within SLA
  • DG tools management and new features enhancements to support data governance functions.
  • Serve as the enterprise liaison between Business and technology to manage business definitions, data lineage (business and metadata), data taxonomies, ontology, and data quality rule definitions in a clearly defined and discoverable manner.
  • Support and train Enterprise Data Stewards to use standard data management tools within the guidelines of governance policies and standards.
  • Support Data Stewards in data management efforts that directly contribute towards major enterprise initiatives. Create and manage metadata and metrics for each business unit.
  • Drive alignment on data definitions, policies, governance, and enforcement of enterprise business rules for master data.
  • Collaborate with the scrum team to translate business requirements into the product roadmap, EPICs, and sprint backlog.
  • Plan deliverables/roadmaps and communicate regular progress status to leadership.

Qualification Section

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid professional work experience in IT development/programming/coding.
  • Progressive Data Governance experience
  • Experience with Informatica EDC / Enterprise Data Catalog tool and EDC advanced scanners.
  • Experience working with Infrastructure teams to enable connectivity to various business critical applications.
  • Experience working with Snowflake, SQL Server, Postgres, and other relational databases.
  • Experience collecting metadata from Salesforce and SAP applications using API connectivity.
  • Experience working with product support team and resolving and providing solutions.
  • Knowledge of information technologies, standards, and best practices prevalent in data governance, data management, data quality, and data privacy.
  • Experience creating and documenting policies and procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of Data Management technology landscape, processes, and design principles.
  • Experience in agile work environment and good understanding of agile principles
  • Knowledge of information technologies, standards, and best practices prevalent in data governance, data management, data quality, and data privacy.

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Experience with data governance tools; Axon, IDQ, DataBuck, Collibra, Alation, or similar.
  • Data profiling/data discovery experience with tools.
  • Enabling lineage by scanning Python scripts used for data movement.
  • Experience with data modeling.
  • Knowledge of Tableau and ad-hoc reporting using analytic tools.
