Do you want to help solve the hard problems that make communities safer?

We seek an accomplished Product Manager to manage one of our evidence management solutions for public safety.

This position is responsible for defining and delivering the product roadmap for a solution consisting of both evidence software and evidence-collecting devices to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of public safety customers, by delivering a world-class workflow to put the right information in front of the right people at the right time.

Core to the role will be establishing relationships and understanding the needs of our customers (internal and end user), and making the solution a delight to sell, to deploy, to support and to use.

You will also be involved in addressing and prioritizing the needs of large customer opportunities, as well as researching and identifying emerging features, integrations and workflows, and delivering value from them.

This role is primarily hybrid remote working with occasional travel to your local Motorola office, and occasional travel to customers and partners, primarily in North America but possibly globally, and possibly to company locations world-wide including UK, Poland, US, and Malaysia as required.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders and senior product management to understand and refine the product requirements, product roadmap and vision.

  • Own, define and refine features and requirements for your solution

  • Define user personas, and problem solving requirements for the public safety customers of your solution

  • Identify and define product requirements to address specific market needs in the global public safety market, including monitoring the competitive landscape.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize the solution roadmap; this involves negotiating with solution component product owners to get your solution features aligned and inserted into their roadmaps, and delivered to your solution customers.

  • Manage the orderability, configurability, and resolving process and systematic problems for the solution introduction and maintenance.

  • Manage the prioritization of market expansion or establishment, including coordination with marketing, sales, training, support and partners as well as identifying translations and territorial approvals requirements.

  • Assist with specific large-opportunity projects that require a system- or solution-oriented approach of which your solution is one element.

  • Persuade and influence others through strong communication.

  • Directly impact the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice and counsel to Product Management leadership and peers.

  • Develop and demonstrate a high level of subject matter expertise in all relevant functional areas to help maintain a system-level view during the solution construction process.

  • Track high-level product progress towards enabling market introductions.

  • Ensure backlog and goals for each team are maintained and current.

  • 3+ years experience in product management

  • Skilled at developing user personas, problem solving user requirements and user stories

  • Some experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Familiarity with Aha! and Jira is a plus

  • Experience with channel, direct, and hybrid sales management

  • Experience in Law Enforcement / Public Safety solutions, software and devices is a plus

  • Experience with enterprise software and devices is a plus

  • Pragmatic Institute Certified Product Manager is a plus

  • Eligible for relevant security clearances where required by customer interaction

This position is potentially subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" which would require successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years' experience in Product Management

  • Passport (can travel to US, and internationally as required)

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
