Job Description

As a key voice on a cross functional leadership team, you will oversee HR strategy and operations for one third of our portfolio, approximately 7000 associates. This position has a dual reporting line to SVP Operations and CHRO. You will lead Directors of HR in every assigned property and up to three property-based Area Directors of HR.

Your role is to protect the culture at all costs, minimize exposure and develop effective strategic plans to drive results. We are seeking an experienced HR professional who will demonstrate leadership, mentorship, effective conflict resolution and communication skills. We require an elevated level of technical and analytical competence. The successful candidate will have previous multi-property experience and is not afraid to make decisions. The role is based in Dallas Texas and will require travel to assigned locations.

Responsibilities
    Ensure that our Area/HR Directors are performing in accordance with our standards and expectations.
    • Oversee identification and on-boarding of all Human Resources Directors
    • Assist with the continued development and elevation of HRDs and Assistant HRDs including training, coaching and career development.
  • Participate in succession planning to ensure Human Resources bench strength supports future growth.
  • Provide guidance and support for employee relations issues that are escalated through the integrity hotline or directly to senior leadership.
    • Guide and /or conduct effective investigations.
    • Coordinate with Corporate Director Labor or Internal/External counsel as required.
  • Serve as the voice of the field on company-wide HR initiatives.
    • Provide feedback on new policies and procedures.
    • Assist with projects as assigned including performance management process, engagement survey, succession planning, etc.
    • Assist in the implementation of new systems and programs by participating in the beta testing and/or sharing detailed knowledge that will result in a successful rollout for the company at large.
  • Ensure you are up to date on state laws for your respective properties.
  • Participate in the monitoring and updating of the Human Resources SOPs as new policies and procedures are implemented and/or existing practices require modification or enhancements.
  • Lead and/or assist with acquisitions and new hotel openings as directed.
  • Assist in the identification and deployment of task force for hotels in need.
  • Collaborate closely with operational leaders to set goals and support field-based management teams to ensure such goals are achieved.
  • Ensure maximization of profitability while balancing guest and associate needs to ensure long term sustainability of the operation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, advance degree a plus.
  • Area or regional director of human resources or a hotel director of human resources in a multi-property environment with a minimum of five years' experience
  • Previous Director level experience
  • Elevated level of computer, analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule and willingness to travel up to 40%
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and various accounting software programs
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communications and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Willing to relocate to Dallas; "in office" role
