Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position serves as a strategic partner to our business leaders to implement and execute people initiatives that drives business results at our Allen Distribution Center, Garland Services HUB, and our Garland Production Center. This position will be responsible for delivering the following initiatives to include but not limited to providing coaching and guidance to business leaders, employee relations, workforce planning, organizational development, organizational effectiveness, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives. On occasion this position may be asked to assist with recruiting.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with HR team to develop, communicate, and execute various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations
  • Investigates and recommend solutions related employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, etc.; escalating significant issues to Senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager
  • Drive initiatives to help foster a positive company culture, focusing on diversity and inclusion
  • Partners with Distribution Center leaders, Production Center leaders, and Senior HR Business Partners to execute staffing plans to meet staffing objectives
  • Identifying and delivering training initiatives as needed for compliance and for improving individual and team performance
  • Assignments include executing strategic and tactical work pertaining to: Quality, Compensation, Communications, Benefits, Employee Relations, Training, and Safety
  • Assignments usually involve both project work and daily human resource administration.
  • Provides day-to-day assistance to all employees in any HR related matters
  • Conducts high-level workplace investigations on short timeframes ranging from simple to, sometimes, complex issues and escalating most significant issues to Senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to employees and/or supervisors assisting management in formulating responses.
  • Assists with HRIS systems use and HR programs to employees when needed or recommends points of contact to help address employees' inquiries.
  • Opens, organizes, and updates employee files. Tracks employee progress, noting promotions, recognitions, policy violations, and documenting them accordingly. Ensures all employee files are maintained according to law.
  • Provides feedback to Regional HR and Area Managers regarding trends revealed when conducting exit interviews.
  • Provides recommendations on policies and procedures that support best practices and a positive work environment
  • Any other duties as assigned.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Ability to work with frontline and management levels of the organization. High energy and high sense of urgency required in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Maturity and reliability. Strong interpersonal skills: strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitation skills, team building skills, and ability to solve problems.

Ability to travel between locations - Allen TX & Garland TX as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing employee relations practices

  • Formal Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field

  • Minimum Years of Experience : 3 - 5 years

REQUIRED PHYSICAL EFFORT

* Normal office demands.

* Exposure to Distribution and Production Center conditions, which may include loud noises, variable temperatures, dusty environment

* Ability to drive.

* Ability to walk long distances between buildings and within the Distribution Center

* Occasional travel may be required < 10%
