POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager for Liberty Packaging Texas oversees operations across four corrugated manufacturing and distribution locations (Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston, and Amarillo). This role is accountable for working collaboratively across the division to develop and execute business objectives to meet customer requirements with a focus on product and process excellence. This role leads teams to achieve objectives in the areas of safety, revenue, quality, and operational excellence.

This position reports directly to our VP of Packaging and is located at the Liberty Packaging facility in Fort Worth, Texas

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the senior leader for Liberty Packaging Texas; provide direct leadership to functional direct reports.
  • Plan, develop, organize, and execute our growth focused business plan to meet company financial and strategic objectives.
  • Accountable for the overall P&L results which includes cost savings and overall growth measures.
  • Work collaboratively across the operating division and in partnership with shared services and functional groups to achieve local, region, division, and enterprise objectives.
  • Manage resources to effectively balance strategic objectives with financial return and the efficient use of assets.
  • Ensures manufacturing schedule attainment is meeting customer service, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Partner with sales leadership to analyze, plan, and implement new opportunities for customers, and support operationalizing new opportunities as new business arrives.
  • In partnership with enterprise EHS function, lead the development and implementation of all safety policies, processes, and programs to promote a culture of safety and reduce incident rates.
  • Establish and maintain customer and other related business relationships; participate in key customer and supplier visits and calls.
  • Manage employee performance by establishing vision, clear goals / expectations, tracking progress against goals, ensuring timely feedback, and addressing performance challenges in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Represent Liberty Packaging Texas in the community.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in management, operations or related field required.
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in general management, plant management or senior level functional experience (working in multiple functional area including sales, marketing, distribution, and finance) within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong management/leadership skills and ability / willingness to sponsor change.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with all levels of Liberty Packaging's organization
  • Strong customer focus
  • High personal standards with a proven track record of integrity, business ethics, and professionalism
  • Action orientation with initiative to achieve results

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Corrugated, folding box, packaging or closely related industry experience preferred
  • Significant operational and continuous improvement experience
