Major Position Responsibilities

This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite.

Summary:

Prepares and analyzes routine reports in support of a specific accounting function.

Essential Functions:

    Prepares routine accounting reports in accordance with standard accounting practices,
    FAR regulations, CAS Standards and GD-OTS policy and procedures
  • Prepares fairly complex financial reports concerning the financial conditions of the SBU, Home Office, major Contract and etc.
  • Responsible for verifying the accuracy of accounting data; also the assumptions relied upon those reports
  • Reviews and analyzes financial data submitted by others in accordance with GAAP, CAS, FAR and GD policies/procedures/processes
  • Researches and resolves any discrepancies between/among such divergent sources of financial information
  • Designs or selects appropriate reports for most efficient use my management
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, discipline/major Finance/Accounting
  • Three to Five years related experience in functional area

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Researches technical issues, whether relating to GAAP, CAS or FAE and disseminates them in understandable format to others in the organization as appropriate.
  • Advanced to Proficient computer skills including MRP systems; maintains confidentiality; presents numerical data effectively; pursues development and training opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate.

Travel Requirements

    • No to Very Little Travel Likely
