Who we are looking for:

The Chief Financial Officer is a key member of our executive team, integrally involved in planning and directing the future of our growing organization. This individual will promote high performance, drive accountability, enhance quality, and design processes and metrics that create visibility and enable the organization to meet its objectives. The Chief Financial Officer of Cornerstone Capital Bank will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as a key advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer and the board of directors - accountable for planning and monitoring financial performance against annual targets and collaborating across business units to optimize performance.
  • Lead the financial operations of the organization in alignment with the Mission and the objectives of Cornerstone.
  • Facilitate corporate Strategic Planning Process and be a critical voice in charting strategic focus for the assigned business units.
  • Support and facilitate M&A activities as a key component of growth, ensuring financial models reflect appropriate risk and return.
  • Challenge finance structures across our business units - to best align with our growth objectives.
  • Ensure a high-functioning finance organization, establish and constantly improve business processes and procedures in support of the strategic direction for a multi-product organization.
  • Oversee the development, preparation, and presentation of both short- and long-range financial budgets and forecasts.
  • Help lead incentive system design and management, partnering with HR, executives, and the board of directors.
  • Drive the financial analysis process with full comprehension of key performance indicators, operating trends, and performance assessment.
  • Manage the Company's capital planning and appropriation process.
  • Support executives in analyzing and diagnosing key performance indicators (KPI's) and productivity metrics to optimize their operational results over time.
  • Ensure that appropriate systems, policies, budgets, and control procedures are in place to support sound, legal practices in support of the independent fiduciary responsibility that Finance represents.
  • Establish strong and effective relationships across our business units.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Cornerstone's business, including its risks, opportunities, and competitive environment.
  • Identify opportunities of interest for personal growth at our entrepreneurial organization. Cornerstone's growth plans will create new opportunities, and we welcome continuous dialogue on personal development and career objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or business is required and a CPA is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive management and leadership experience in finance, with preference for an individual who has displayed strategic leadership.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and finance theory with the ability to perform or direct complex financial analyses. This includes proficient knowledge of bank regulatory accounting rules, and the ability to practically apply these principles when formulating sound judgment in both accounting and financial reporting.
  • Progressive experience in financial analysis, management reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and project management.
  • Proven ability to assist in the development of systems to define performance benchmarks, reduce costs, and improve financial performance.
  • Demonstrated performance in partnering finance with operations in driving gains in business performance, revenues, market share, and profitability.
  • Comfortable working within a functional and diverse line of business matrixed organization.
  • Strong leadership ability, with the capacity to balance empathy with determination, staunchly defending a strategic direction while considering the position of others.
  • Experience working "hands-on" and comfortable with change management and uncertainty.
  • Proven success in developing and executing business strategies resulting in measurable business results. Specifically, the ability to analyze market opportunities, behaviors, and the competitive landscape to identify the levers to address opportunities and product risks for the company.
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams, lead people, and get results through others.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
