As a 5G Defense Solutions Architect for Ericsson Federal Technologies Group (EFTG), you will own the solution, workshops, architectures, white papers, and technical forums. The 5G Defense Solutions Architect will be leading customer presentations and engagement. This great opportunity will be building the next generation of Department of Defense communications systems on 5G technology. Success is based on customer intimacy and building unwavering customer trust as a critical priority.
What you will do
  • Participate in C-Level, Senior Ranking Officer, or Senior Government Official discussions based on an end-to-end private network environment, including 5G architecture and specifications, Cyber-security, RAN, Open RAN, Packet Core, IMS Core, OSS, Network Slicing, Orchestration, Services, Managed Services domains.
  • Drive the business models based on the market realities in Ericsson Business Areas and the Department of Defense.
  • Have a passion for supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and tactical operations functions.
  • You will participate in direct customer dialogues at the highest levels, providing experience and knowledge of emerging technology trends and business models in combination with Ericsson technology and offerings.
  • In addition to having a firm command of the Ericsson portfolio, you must have a solid understanding of competition and market situation, among others, in building on in-depth knowledge and understanding of the customer.
  • You will creatively apply 3GPP and Ericsson Technology to U.S. Department of Defense "Dual Use" use-cases.
  • Build solutions using Ericsson LTE, NB-IoT, NR technologies that meet business requirements.
You will bring
  • Outstanding track record of building strong customer relationships of trust.
  • Proven ability to lead customer engagements into solutions providing outstanding value for the customer and Ericsson Federal U.S. Technologies Group.
  • Working knowledge of 3GPP 5G & LTE standards and industry trends and initiatives from other standards bodies.
  • Experience working with government and defense industrial base customers.
  • Broad understanding of defense mission execution and operational needs.
  • Experience in network architecture planning activities with a focus on End-to-End (E2E) solutions incorporating EPC, RAN, Transport, and UE requirements using Ericsson technologies.
  • Network planning expertise, including RF coverage and capacity planning, transport network dimensioning, and overall network solutions.
  • Ability to create test plans to demonstrate system architecture and performance.
  • The ability to collaboratively develop architectures and solutions directly with customers.
  • Extensive experience in Enterprise/Dedicated/Mission Critical Networks or small carrier grade end-to-end networks.
  • Independently develop network solutions and act as a team leader if required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must possess a current DCSA security clearance or be able to obtain one within 90 days of the hiring date: Secret level clearance minimum.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT, or other related subject area required; Masters/MBA preferred.
  • 10+/- yrs. of 3GPP solutions or product management experience or equivalent is required.
  • Substantial current RAN experience from sales/solutions in the industry, ideally with 5G.
  • Experience working with customers on technical strategy evolution.
  • Thorough knowledge of RAN evolution, e.g., 5G network transformation.
  • Major exposure on pricing, selling, and packaging Radio, Core, and End-to-End Solutions.
  • C-Suite-level consultative selling skills.
This role reports to the VP - Mission Critical Systems.
