Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ONSITE with our client in Gainesville, TX. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Within the IPT structure, collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Operations, Program Management, and other departments to ensure the product meets manufacturing requirements and goals and is ready for production when launched.
  • Support of Design for Manufacturability and participation in lean improvement activities are needed.
  • Work closely with Industrial Engineering to design and implement process and equipment layouts and improvements.
  • Support Operations through technical support, product design, and quality standards.
  • New Product Development
    1. As a member of an Integrated Program Team, provide support to ensure the program is successful and serve as the focal of Tooling, Fabrication, Operations, and Manufacturing Planning to ensure the needs of these groups are met and communication is clear
    2. Collaborate with engineering throughout the design and development process, capture and document engineering/build problems, and work with engineering to solve, and support the design review process
    3. Ensure designs and build processes meet cycle time expectations/goals
    4. Perform PFMEA for general products and specific designs as needed
    5. Ensure drawings and designs meet requirements for internal DFM guidelines and continually update these guidelines as needed
    6. Work with the Manufacturing Planning and Industrial Engineering/ME Planner (VWI) team to ensure routing and instructions for subassemblies and seat assembly are clear and correct and include proper instructions and tools
    7. Prepare for a smooth product launch and support pre-production and production build areas

  • Production and Design Improvement
    1. Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing
    2. Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes
    3. Determine root causes of failures using statistical or lean methods and recommend changes to designs, tolerances, or processing methods
    4. Evaluate manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards
    5. Review product design for manufacturability or completeness
  • Process Improvement
    1. Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
    2. Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness
    3. Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Process Efficiency
    1. Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures
    2. Analyze the financial impacts of sustainable manufacturing such as by implementing sustainable manufacturing processes or manufacturing sustainable products
    3. Purchase equipment, consumable, and non-consumable tools
    4. Train production personnel in new or existing methods
    5. Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
    6. Investigate or resolve operational problems such as material use variances or bottlenecks
    7. Prepare reports summarizing information or trends related to manufacturing performance
    8. Read current literature, talk with colleagues, participate in educational programs, attend meetings, attend workshops, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in the manufacturing field
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Here's what requirements you'll need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer working with mechanical components
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Lean Manufacturing

Here's what sets you apart from other candidates that our clients prefer:
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification
  • Proficiency with CATIA V5
  • APQP, D&P FMEA, Control Plan
  • Have intermediate knowledge of production methods, process capabilities, tooling processes, and manufacturing processes
  • Be capable of preparing well-written reports and orderly reports
  • Have sufficient knowledge of manufacturing and related operations with detailed knowledge of such fields as product design, engineering function, tool design, tool fabrication, ergonomics and EHS, N/C machinery and equipment, factory methods work, etc.
  • Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and Operating Systems
  • Able to conduct fault isolation and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical defects
  • Have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
  • Ability to read and review written communication.
  • Speech and hearing abilities that allow individuals to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
  • Have good root cause corrective action skills and be highly energetic.
  • Have good personal, statistical, and technical writing skills.
  • Able to lead teams towards defined objectives, with on-time execution of program objectives
  • Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and engage in healthy debate


Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen

  • This position needs extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment.
  • Finger dexterity is needed in using misc.
  • Office equipment such as telephone, computer, and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting to approximately twenty pounds are needed during tasks related to the job.
  • The work environment includes an office setting with moderate office noise.
  • International or Domestic travel needed; add estimated percentage of time
