Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ON-SITE with our client in Gainesville, TX. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • This position is responsible for ensuring that quality is applied throughout the product and manufacturing development processes.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the Integrated Management System and full compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements achieving company business objectives on all activities performed at the design department.
  • Works under regular supervision on moderately complex tasks.
  • Ensure all activities at the design department are performed by the documented instructions
  • Continuous monitoring of design & development activities performance compliance to customer, regulatory, internal, and all other applicable requirements
  • With the design engineering team, define, document, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the design quality plans
  • Training, coaching, and assurance of Engineering QRQC activity
  • Function as internal IMS auditor as needed by the company's internal audit plan
  • Document and follow up on internal and external corrective actions
  • Ensure proper and on-time response to all needed actions (ensure proper analysis and action plans)
  • Verify the effectiveness of the corrective actions implemented
  • Maintain the CA/PA system properly
  • Ensure proper support and follow-up to all APQP activities of the development team
  • Ensure proper coordination with all departments for the proper APQP deployment
  • Communicate with internal customers and ensure all issues are understood and attended
  • Validate and provide answers to internal customer complaints/issues/improvements
  • Be the IMS focal for the Engineering department and ensure Engineering processes definition and documentation
  • Ensure all applicable Engineering activities quality records are properly generated and maintained within the IMS requirements
  • Review and approve technical and performance specifications and department IMS instructions to ensure proper alignment with company IMS
  • Ensure that the training program is effectively implemented in the Engineering department
  • Co-lead with engineering to develop, update, and improve training modules and exams and provide support to company trainers as needed
  • Perform technical training and help to develop internal trainers within the Development activity.
  • Ensure that the needed resources for the Continuous improvement initiatives are defined and provided to meet the engineering and company continuous improvement goals and objectives
  • Follow up and lead continuous improvement projects to reach established goals and go beyond when possible and feasible

  • Collect, analyze, and monitor data entry on relevant design quality performance indicators for the proper support to other functions/areas
  • Supervise the performance of the main engineering KPIs to ensure actions are taken as needed
  • Verify the status of program requirements to update priorities and action items
  • Other related activities be assigned by the direct or indirect boss as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Industrial
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the aerospace industry or engineering, design & development, or quality positions
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in internal and external audit and audit techniques
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Configuration and data management.

  • Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO19011, AS9100, AS9145, ISO14001, OHSAS18001
  • APQP Tools knowledge and domain, PDCA, DMAIC, and other related tools knowledge
  • MS Office proficiency and intermediate skills with engineering-related CAD tools (CATIA)
  • Organization and planning
  • Flow chart and drawings interpretation as well as customer, internal, and regulatory requirements
  • Good skills in quality issues investigation, audit, analysis, and correction/prevention
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Good cross-functional skills to coordinate engineering issues with operations and other areas
  • Speech and hearing abilities that allow individuals to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
  • Ability to solve moderately complex practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to follow up on actions effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Good leadership, initiative, and execution
  • Ability to convince, accept responsibility, adaptability-flexibility
  • Good negotiation skills
