Here's what you'd do:
  • Drive activities needed to meet cost, quality, inventory, delivery, and cycle time objectives throughout the supply chain value stream.
  • Measure suppliers, collaborate to develop process and product improvement plans, and enforce action measures as necessary to achieve business objectives.
  • Works under regular supervision on moderately complex tasks.
  • Support the supplier assessment and selection process by conducting audits/assessments and ensuring the implementation of applicable requirements.
  • Ensure suppliers apply client requirements, such as APQP, PPAP, FMECA, and risk analysis.
  • Ensure that products and services comply with quality requirements by planning and conducting monitoring actions from suppliers per the established auditing schedules.
  • Ensure proper non-compliance management through trend analysis of supplier defects and take appropriate action to drive resolution using the quality tools in ETQ.
  • Ensure supplier improvement by measuring supplier performance against the client-established KPI thresholds.
  • Provide Purchasing with information to pass on poor-quality costs to suppliers.
  • Ensure that suppliers implement performance improvement plans and monitor the progression.
  • Promote the use of client tools and methods by suppliers.
  • Promote quality culture.
  • Act as a quality correspondent for production transfers between suppliers and from client to supplier and implement quality actions to meet customer and client requirements.
  • Investigate and disposition supplier non-conformance requests and provide feedback to the supplier with evidence of non-conformity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on part design to prevent recurring build issues.
  • Support QRQC activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the implementation of continuous improvement systems and RCCA
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Quality Engineering
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the Plan for Every Part process
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations about supplier OEM processes and products
  • Must be able to read and interpret average to moderately complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements
  • Must be able to generate written communication, operate office equipment, and read and review written communication.
  • Speech and hearing abilities allow individuals to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
  • Ability to solve moderately complex problems and think strategically.
  • Perform work under direct supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to take the initiative, accept responsibility, adaptability-flexibility, work under pressure, autonomy, creativity, and leadership.
  • Acts by company values and related competencies.
  • Six Sigma Lean fundamentals, or Green Belt certification.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment.
  • Finger dexterity is needed in using miscellaneous office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting to approximately twenty pounds are during tasks related to the job.
  • The work environment includes an office setting with moderate office noise.
