Summary:

Seasoned professional charged with qualifying potential donors and developing relationships between Cook Childrens and prospects for planned philanthropic gifts; cultivate and solicit existing donors, prospective donors, and grateful patient families for deferred gifts to Cook Childrens via estate plans. Serve as primary point of contact for the Turner Cook Planned Giving Society. Proven track record of developing relationships with financial institutions, legal firms, and estate planning professionals.

Education:

  • The position requires strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to articulate accurately and persuasively the themes and issues associated with a pediatric medical center and health care system. The individual must be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues inside and outside the Foundation. Familiarity with the local community is strongly preferred. A high level of analytical ability and a multi-tasked manner of thinking are required. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and directed, possessing excellent administrative skills, high motivation, and a proven ability to produce results in a highly deadline-oriented environment. Other required attributes include independence, reliability, accuracy, and expedience in addressing duties, as well as the ability to handle pressure, to meet deadlines and to do so with a minimum of supervision or instruction. A strong team orientation toward both internal and external constituencies is required. The successful candidate must be independent, accurate, reliable, and a fast worker. The ability to learn new software is necessary.

  • Work requires 7-10 years of experience in fund raising, planned giving, marketing or related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or participate in planned gift fund raising activities and proposal development.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
