We are seeking a paid Advocacy Data Management Intern for the Fall 2022 semester with the possibility to extend into a longer time period. The intern will work with Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPMW), a 501(c)(3) organization, and in conjunction, the individual will also serve as an intern for PPMW's affiliated 501(c)(4) advocacy organization, Planned Parenthood Advocates for DC, Maryland, & NoVa (PPADMV). At no time will the intern engage in partisan political activity on behalf of PPMW, though at times the role will involve this type of activity on behalf of PPADMV. The intern will assist with creating and managing a shared data strategy across PPMW and PPADMV's departments combining information collected from volunteer, activist and storytelling interactions to deepen relationships and support ladders of engagement.


The Advocacy Data Management Intern will report to the Director of Organizing and Volunteer Programming. The candidate should have a strong commitment to reproductive health, rights, and justice. Diverse applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

  • Clean volunteer and supporter data according to Organizing and Public Affairs priorities in EveryAction CRM
  • Support and assist management of all users and user profiles across EveryAction committees
  • Build out forms that support data collection regarding PPMW's initiatives and programs
  • Organize volunteer and supporter databases and files, including executing database queries
  • Build EveryAction instructional step-by-step guides toolkits for Organizing team, including volunteers
  • Attend events, hearings, rallies, and other Planned Parenthood activities on Capitol Hill, at the Supreme Court, DC Council, and elsewhere
  • Collaborate with policy, communications, development, and other PPMW and PPADMV teams
  • Support community organizers with data collection, including storytelling and digital organizing efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student interested in organizing and advocacy, data management, public affairs, political science, and/or reproductive health, rights, and justice
  • Knowledge of and a strong commitment to reproductive health and rights, as well as PPMW and PPADMV's mission and goals
  • Able to commit a minimum of 16-20 hours per week
  • Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills
  • Be knowledgeable in data management, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and G-Suite, and have a general comfortability with computers
