Summary
The Technical Solutions Engineer is responsible for providing Technical Design, Scoping, and knowledge during the entire lifecycle of the Solution Sale and works closely with the Account Team to ensure technical accuracy of the Solution design. This role will collaborate with Professional Services Engineers in designing new Enterprise Networking and Security solutions and will bridge the gap between Professional Services Engineers and Account Teams.
Essential Functions
- Serves as the subject matter expert in Cisco Enterprise Networking Solutions. Technical experience and expertise in including Cisco Routing and Switching, Wireless, Data Center or Security technologies required
- Understands and articulates Enterprise Networking architectures and Professional Services Opportunities
- Provides specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support for major account opportunities
- Understands business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements
- Scopes, presents, and documents Professional Services Statement of Works following the Solution Delivery Model
- Creates and validates Bill of Materials
- Presents final technical solution to the Client, leading with Firm Fixed Professional Services Solutions
- Validates final technical solution with the Client, based on desired outcomes
- Maintains technical flow of Professional Services and Hardware/Software validation with the Client throughout the life of the sales cycle
- Performs in-depth and high-level Cisco Enterprise Networking technical presentations for Clients
- Drives identified major account technology opportunities (i.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations) with the Account Manager
- Works closely with Post Sales Engineers in scoping and understanding all solutions as they relate to Collaboration
- Drives Enterprise Networking solutions across the organization; responsible for discovering net new opportunities throughout our customer base
- Generates significant Professional Services revenue derived from scoping outcome based solutions. Target of $500,000 in direct origination and scoping of Professional Services FFP, and SoW's
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS Degree, preferably a technical degree
- 5+ years' experience in designing Cisco Enterprise Networking Solutions
- 2+ years of experience developing proposals and statements of work
- Strong experience in gathering and analyzing business drivers as it relates to Cisco Enterprise Networking design and solutions
- History of explaining complex technologies to business and executive personnel
- Proven track record with architecting, sizing and selling enterprise networking solutions
- Strong teaming skills with account managers and other systems engineers
- Energetic/high confidence presenter
